Descriptive Essay on the Starry Sky
In one of the courses, I wrote a detailed and descriptive essay, of about 700 words, on the starry sky which has now become rare to see, unless a telescope is used. I wrote about the beauty of starry night, the fantasies associated with starry night, and the peace it generates in the environment as well as in a person. The essay tested my creativity and the ability to communicate my thoughts in words. I used my writing, research and creative skills to complete the task.
Reflection:
I learned to express my thoughts with a creative flair. During this assignment, I realized that my vocabulary for nature-related things is very weak and that I need to work on it. I also learned how to review and edit one’s own work. If given another chance to do the assignment, I would try not to use google to find creative synonyms. I suggest others to write essays on topics that are of real interest to them otherwise it gets boring and tedious.
Annotated Bibliography on White Collar Crimes
For one of my research works, I wrote an annotated bibliography for five research articles. At first, I searched the articles on white collar crimes which was my research topic. I took all of those 5 articles from Google Scholar and then I summarized those article, followed by writing their strongest and weakest points, conclusion, and critical analysis. I used my critical thinking and research skills to do the task. It tests my communication skills as well, as it was a written assignment.
Reflection:
This assignment was very helpful, as I learned how to interpret the relevance and reliability of the content with respect to my own research. I learned how to express my analysis without being disrespectful yet putting my point forward. This assignment taught me to write annotated bibliography with respect to my own research. When doing this assignment again, I would try to give a final verdict of supporting it or not, instead of avoiding it. I recommend others to use clear, concise, and insightful words in such assignments.
Event changed my life essayÂ
Introduction:
in this assignment I wrote about a personal event happened to me. Which is something tried for the first time. I wrote about my feeling and how I struggled in this life. I learned in this assignment how put my feelings into words and read it in front of others.
Reflection
I learned from this assignment how to overcome the obstacles in life. Also, it makes me read stories from survivals, which was an inspiration for me. Such like the story of big elephant tied to a small piece of rope to one of his legs. Eventually I learned that what doesn’t kill you make you stronger.
